Anti-Ragging Policy (As Per UGC Regulations)
At Mayurakshi Gramin College, we firmly believe in respect, dignity, and safety for every student. Ragging in any form — physical, verbal, emotional, or online — is strictly prohibited. Our institution complies fully with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging (effective from 2009, amended periodically thereafter).
What is Ragging?
Ragging includes any act — physical, mental, psychological, or verbal — that:
*Humiliates, insults, threatens, or harms a student,
*Disrupts a student’s academic performance or self-esteem,
*Or creates an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in educational settings.
Examples include:
1.Forcing new students to perform tasks,
2.Teasing or derogatory name-calling,
3.Unwanted physical contact,
4.Cyber-ragging (social media harassment), and
5.Any act of intimidation or humiliation.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Ragging is a non-bailable offense under Indian law (UGC Regulations + Supreme Court orders). Even a single confirmed act will result in stringent action including:
*Suspension or expulsion from the college,
*Cancellation of admission,
*Withholding of results/credentials,
*FIR lodged with local authorities,
*Disciplinary action by the college anti-ragging committee
Anti-Ragging Bodies
We have established the following institutional mechanisms:
1.Anti-Ragging Committee
Oversees policy enforcement, conducts inquiries, and recommends action.
2.Anti-Ragging Squad
Conducts surprise inspections, monitoring campus hotspots and hostels.
3.Mentors & Ward System
Assigned faculty/staff to support new students and resolve issues early.
4.Grievance Redressal Cell

Mandatory Student Declarations
Every student (fresh and senior):
